Fight against illicit possession of narcotics is one of the priority tasks of Vilnius Police

Fight against the distribution of narcotics is one of the priority tasks of the police. Strengthened attention of the officers allows to more quickly identify both distributors of narcotic substances and the hotspots of their activities. Since the beginning of this year, Vilnius County Police have launched 162 pre-trial investigations on the illegal possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances, identified 82 persons suspected of drug trafficking, and removed more than 94 kg of various narcotic substances from the illegal trade.

Not only the officers of the territorial police units of the Vilnius County Police Headquarters are working intensively, but also the criminal police, as many as 38 pre-trial investigations are being carried out in specialised units.

Police officers underline that the role of the community itself is particularly important, therefore, they ask the public not to remain indifferent and, if they notice a suspicious activity, to immediately notify the Lithuanian police on the telephone line "NO for drugs" by the number +370 700 60777. The telephone line is open on weekdays from 7 am to 8 pm.

Upon receipt of such information, it enters the specialised criminal police unit, where specific officers are appointed. They shall, within one working day, carry out a preliminary verification of the information, verify that the police is not investigating such a person or fact and forward it to the appropriate police unit by territory.

Don't be indifferent! Only together we can protect our environment from the spread of narcotics and prevent threats to the lives of our loved ones.
