A Life Saved Thanks to Officers’ Determination and Swift Action
This afternoon, while returning to work, Povilas Revuckas, Head of the Fifth Police Station of Vilnius City, and Laimonas Pradkelis, Head of the 1st Operations Division, noticed a man lying on the ground near the police station on Sietyno Street.
The officers did not hesitate — as they approached, they saw that the man was unconscious and showing no signs of life.
Reacting immediately, the officers began resuscitation efforts — taking turns performing chest compressions, and soon after, using an automated external defibrillator, following the instructions of emergency medical professionals provided over the phone.
P. Revuckas and L. Pradkelis continued providing life-saving assistance until the arrival of paramedics. Their efforts succeeded — the man’s breathing was restored, he regained consciousness, and was handed over to medical care.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder of how crucial quick response and first aid skills can be — every second truly matters when a life is at stake.
We are proud of our colleagues — for their courage, determination, and humanity!
