Vilnius County Police Team Named the Best in Lithuania!
Over three days in Palanga, Lithuania’s top police teams competed for the title of the best in the country. Today, the winners were announced, with the Vilnius County Police team taking first place!
Held in Palanga on 14–16 September, the Best Lithuanian Police Team Competition put officers’ professionalism, endurance, speed, and teamwork to the ultimate test. It was not enough simply to be knowledgeable about one’s profession – each task required concentration, quick reactions, precise decisions and the ability to work together.
Participants faced a wide array of events, including shooting, service dog handling, theoretical knowledge assessments, orienteering, police tactics, domestic violence response scenarios, tactical driving, emergency medical care, and a surprise event.
Each event required the officers to demonstrate a different set of skills. The shooting event required precision and composure; the driving course tested speed and vehicle control; and orienteering challenged officers’ ability to navigate efficiently and make decisions quickly under pressure. Tactical and domestic violence response task evaluated operational readiness in high-stress scenarios, while medical tasks highlighted the critical importance of providing emergency assistance when every second counts.
Above all, teamwork was perhaps the most important element of every event. The ability to trust one another, divide responsibilities, stay focused and work together towards a common goal made all the difference.
For the Vilnius County Police team, this competition provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how the experience, professionalism and teamwork gained through daily service enable them to achieve the very best results.
This victory is the result of the entire team’s hard work, perseverance and dedication. Every task, every decision and every second counted in the pursuit of a common goal.
We extend our warmest congratulations to our team members on this outstanding achievement!
