For the second year in a row, the preventive activities carried out in the road safety classroom of the Vilnius County Police Headquarters have been recognized

Vilnius City Municipality, together with EDU – a municipal institution aiming for higher quality education in the capital – is implementing the project “Vilnius Is a School.” Its goal is to modernize education, move at least 10 percent of lessons from traditional classrooms into urban spaces, and introduce a blended learning model. The project encourages schools to make creative use of the capital’s spaces and combine classroom lessons with lessons in the city.
On January 19, the project organizers marked the third anniversary of the “Vilnius Is a School” initiative. On this occasion, awards were presented to the schools that use the platform most actively, as well as to ten project partners – companies and institutions that welcomed the largest number of pupils.

We are pleased to share that for the second year in a row we are among the 10 most active project partners. This recognition is awarded for the active efforts of community officers – they regularly invite pupils and conduct lessons on road safety for children of various ages in the road safety classroom of the Vilnius County Police Headquarters, at Sietyno St. 24, Vilnius.

During the event, a letter of thanks from Vilnius City Mayor Valdas Benkunskas and an exceptional, one-of-a-kind work by Rūta Šipalytė, an associate professor at the Ceramics Department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and a ceramic artist, were presented for active participation in the project.

The activities carried out in the road safety classroom provide Vilnius pupils with valuable practical knowledge and help develop habits of safe, responsible behavior on the road.
